This is super late, but we did a big thing over the summer. We had our wedding!!! It was an amazing beautiful day. We had so many wonderful people come together and share in our joy and love. And somehow, we got a sunshine no rain day in Washington.
My amazing bridesmaids. They traveled from Colorado, Canada and Massachusetts to be with me on this special day. Having them there was so insanely meaningful to me. These women have utterly transformed my life. One is my oldest friend, my best friend since high school, which means we’ve been friends for over 10 years. The others I haven’t known quite as long but have all made my heart happy and full. They accept me for me and have helped me to become my best self. They never make me people tired- which is a big deal for an introvert.
We got to work with some amazing vendors. My photographer and make up artist were two of the kindest sweetest souls. They made me feel completely beautiful the entire day.
We wrote our own vows. We totally forgot to get them on video, but they were the perfect balance of funny, sweet, and sentimental (in my totally unbiased opinion).
One of our, and our guests, favorite parts of the wedding was the shoe game. Kind of like the newly wed game. You sit facing back to back, the DJ asked a question like “who said I love you first” and then Eric and I would raise whichever shoe we though was the answer. My favorite question of the night was “who drinks the girlier drinks” because we all know its him.
My best friend from high school, Alexa, made this amazing cake for us. She worked literally non stop for two days out of our tiny airbnb kitchen. She made my wedding cake dreams come to life. The cake was so delicious that there wasn’t any left at the end of the night.
Some of my favorite pictures are our sunset pictures. The truly capture the magic we felt in the garden that night.
At the recommendation of our photographer we did a bubble exit. Eric’s face is priceless. He claims people were purposefully blowing bubbles right at him. Then we got to drive away in a classic Oldsmobile.
Planning a wedding across the country was definitely one of the more stressful things I’ve done, but everything came together amazingly. Most importantly- I get to spend the rest of my life with the most wonderful man.
