I loovvvveeeeeee favorites videos on youtube so I thought it might be fun to try it here. I have quite a few new things I tried this month. Here’s the roundup:
Beautycounter Cleansing Balm
This stuff is totally amazing. I was on the fence about buying it because it’s a little on the pricier side, but I promise it’s totally worth it. You don’t use very much so it will last a long while and it gets every speck of make up and moisturizes the skin.
Buff City Soap Lotion
My skin gets so dry in the winter especially here in Colorado. This lotion is my secret to keeping my skin from getting dry and itchy. It’s really thick and a little goes a long way. Plus it smells delicious. I only have to use it every other day to keep my skin happy.
Briogeo Volumizing Shampoo
I used to have very voluminous hair with lots of curls (and frizz). However, Colorado has changed the texture of my hair completely. I’ve been struggling with it a lot, because all of a sudden my hair thinned out quite a bit and wouldn’t hold a curl. I was also trying to use shampoos that didn’t have endocrine disruptors in them like sulfates, parabens, silicone, fragrance etc. My hair was getting so oily by the end of the day no matter how much I did or didn’t wash it. This stuff transformed my hair in one use! Not only is it free from all the bad stuff; but suddenly my hair looked good for days on end and actually had volume. I was thrilled.
Workout
I’m the kind of person who loves cardio. I don’t feel like my workout is complete unless it involves some sort of cardio. One of my fitness goals right now is also to get faster at running, so I’ve been doing incorporating speed work as cardio. I got this one from Caitlin Rice whom I follow on Instagram.
Winter Treat/Leggings
I ordered these new Glyder leggings on Black Friday when they were having their 40% off sale and I am in love. They are the softest leggings I have ever worn and I love the color. The cutout pattern is also unique. So far I’ve only worn them to the gym but I can’t wait to wear them hiking.
I have been obsessed with this “healthier” hot chocolate. It’s super simple! 2tbs cacao powder, 1/2-1 tbs maca powder, 1/2tbs coconut oil, milk alternative of choice, vanilla, sweetener of choice.
- fill a mug with milk alternative and heat in microwave for 2min
- pour milk into blender
- add cacao, maca, sweetener, coconut oil, and vanilla
- blend!
- once combined and frothy pour back into mug
- top with Trader Joe’s vegan marshmallows!
Wellness
One of my friends, Allyssa, introduced me to the Food Heals Nation podcast. Obsessed isn’t a strong enough word. This podcast has changed my life. They talk about everything from food, to beauty, spirituality, to creating a life you love. I have learned so much about food, health, wellness, how the body and mind work, and more. It isn’t boring to listen to either- the way the information is presented is incredibly interesting. I can’t recommend it enough.
Okay! That’s it for this month’s favorites. What do you think? Do you like posts like this? Do you prefer ones that are all encompassing or just focus on one specific area (ie workout or beauty but not combined). I’m still learning so let me know what you think!
These sound like some great products. I’ll have to try them out! They’d make fabulous gifts too. I really like those leggings.
Thanks Amber! I wore the leggings all day at the zoo and hiking. They were so soft and comfortable!
I love Beauty Culture products. They use natural ingredients so I can use it for my sensitive skin.
My skin has changed so much since using BeautyCounter!
These look like really great products and I would love to try them some day. Or maybe as a gift to one of my sisters.
A lot of these would make great gifts 🙂
Nice hot chocolate recipe. I will be sure to try it when I have a taste for it on a chilly day.
Thanks Keshia! It would be perfect on a colder day
That hot chocolate just looks amazing!! This is the perfect selection of cozy things 🙂
Thank you so much! That’s exactly what I was going for 🙂
Such a fun post! These are some great favorites. I am the opposite not a fan of cardio but that does look like a great workout!
Its pretty killer! I love workouts that get a lot done in a short amount of time.
I like the idea of your healthier hot chocolate. I love hot chocolate but it does have quite a few calories. I love to drink it during cold nights though.
A few minutes of daily exercise is very important.. would definitely gv a try to the cardio exercise plan.
this balm sounds so cool! and perfect for winter indeed! love the idea of a healthier hot chocolate!
I am a guy. Normally I don’t really care about skin care, but I know it’s essential. Thank you for your recommendations.
I have dry skin so I definitely need to try the balm. Oh And I love the healthier hot coco…got to pick up some ingredients to make it. Yum!
I get dry skin too during winters, never tried soap lotion. Will try to find out more about it and its availability in my country. Taking care of self is very important. Thanks for the inspiration.
