Winter is hard. I find its especially hard because the days are so short. That combined with the cold and snow in the mountains make it hard to get outside and hike. I have to find other things that fill my soul in the winter.
A lot of people don’t love Sunday’s. I get that. The whole going to work the next day kind of puts a damper on things. But I’ve always had a great love for late Sunday afternoons. Especially in our new house, we face west and the whole inside becomes filled with beautiful golden light.
This particular Sunday was cold enough to feel like winter, but the sun was warm so I had our front door open all day. The animals love to stay in the sun spots. I deep cleaned the whole house which I love to do and includes vacuuming even under the rugs and steam mopping. I absolutely love my thieves cleaner and soon the whole house smelled amazing. I also decided I wanted relaxing music instead of my normal Netflix. It just added a whole other level of relaxation to the day. In fact- before you finish reading this turn it on. Then finish reading, it will help you feel what I was feeling, I promise. I’ll link it here.
I decided to make my own coffee syrup and while that was simmering for 20 minutes I decided to make a vegetable soup in the InstantPot for lunch. Gosh I love that thing. Just throw everything in and all the work is done. Because it was my first meal of the way I was able to fit in a grilled cheese as well. I don’t normally eat dairy, but sometimes you just need a good grilled cheese.
I started some laundry and worked on my website and Pinterest and had fun taking pictures around the house. As I type this, on of our cats, Mowgli, is curled up on my lap. The house is filled with golden hour light and I have my fuzzy socks on because my feet are cold. I hope between the music and the photos you’re able to feel the magic Sunday afternoon feeling.
It sounds cozy!
