Festive New Years Drinks: Cranberry Lemon Drops

I’m not a huge drinker. Going out and getting drunk just isn’t my idea of a good time. However- when the occasion calls I definitely enjoy a yummy and aesthetically pleasing drink.

One of my favorite drinks is a lemon drop. But I wanted to be more….holiday-ey? If that makes sense? And when I think of holidays, I think red. Enter Cranberry Juice!

Recipe:

1c Cranberry Juice

1c citrus flavored or regular vodka

  • if using regular add 1c lemon juice

4 Whole sprigs of rosemary (garnish)

1 lemon, slice (garnish)

Mix the cranberry and vodka together and chill or shake over ice. Wet glass rim and dip in sugar. Add lemon slice to rim and garnish with rosemary sprig if desired.

I also found this awesome Vegan wine called Wine Cube. It’s one of the first pink vegan wines I’ve been able to find! There is an awesome website, http://www.barnivore.com , that I use to help me find alcohol that is vegan. How can alcohol be not vegan? Animal products (like gelatin) are frequently used in the clarification process. Crazy right?! I had no idea until like 2 months ago that that was a thing. Now I try to double check if I’m going to be buying/drinking alcohol.

2018 was such a great year. We had our wedding, I did really well at work, I hiked A LOT, I ran another half marathon, I got faster and lifted heavier, I cut out dairy, I learned to meditate, one of my best friends got married and another is pregnant with her first baby, I went to Virginia/Washington/California/Canada. I did a lot. And I’m excited to be celebrating the new one with my in laws and husband (while sipping on this deliciousness of course)!

I can’t believe 2019 is here! Bring it on! And Happy New Year!!
